Kurds will be a part of the joint Syrian opposition delegation during the Geneva talks, the Saudi-backed High Negotiations Committee (HNC) spokesman Salem Muslit said Saturday.
Muslit added that the delegation would consist of 20 negotiators and 20 advisers, but did not name the possible candidates.
“Kurds will be represented in the opposition delegation… Delegation in Geneva will represent the whole spectrum of Syrian opposition,” Muslit said on Al Hadath broadcaster.
Muslit said the opposition delegation would bring together various groups, which, as well as the HNC would include rebel factions that took part in Astana negotiations. It will also include Kurdish, Turkmen and Christian representatives, he said, but did not elaborate.
“It is a military political delegation and it represents everyone,” Muslit said. “Each component will nominate the person it finds suitable.”
