The major wing of the Syrian opposition forces stated on 1st of March in Geneva that terrorism cannot be added to the agenda of generally unsuccessful Western-backed peace talks also boosted by UN.
The High Negotiating Committee (HNC) announced their refusal to discuss terrorism after a consultation with a Russian foreign minister.
“We will not deal with it, and if (UN mediator Staffan de Mistura) adds it in any time we will not deal with it or discuss it,” Yehya Al Kodmani, the HNC head of delegation, told the reporters.
This vital issue has been a key point to the entire talks in Geneva. The refusal made by the main Syria’s opposition group drives the future of negotiation unclear and senseless.
