UNICEF Representative has payed a visit to refugee camp in Hasakah, north-eastern Syria.
Areesha camp is one of the transit camps for children and their caregivers who fled from Raqqa and Deir-Ezzor. UNICEF has delivered about 300,000 litres of safe water and installed latrines and showers taking care of refugees’ sanitation and hygiene. The organizations also provides basic primary health care.
The Syrian Government forces supported by Russian Aerospace Forces and U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces are fighting against terrorists in Raqqa and Deir-Ezzor provinces. For this reason a lot of citizens had to flee zones of fighting and go to refugee camps.
As was reported earlier by the UN, more than 600,000 displaced Syrians returned home in the first seven months of 2017. Among them 405,420 individuals returned to Aleppo province following it was liberated by the Syrian army.
