Head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi voiced Tehran’s readiness to help Syria with reconstruction.

He, meantime, said that the resolve and resistance of the Syrian nation and government have foild the plots hatched by the US, the Israeli regime and their regional allies.

Boroujerdi then referred to the recent letter penned and addressed by President Assad Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and said the letter indicates the deeply-rooted relations between the two countries and the positive role of Iran in Syria’s recent victories in the fight against terrorism.

“The Resistance Front is facing common enemies in the region which has necessitated continuous and regular coordination among member-states,” Boroujerdi said.

The senior Iranian lawmaker also held talks with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem, Syria’s newly-appointed Speaker of the People’s Council of Syria, Hammouda Sabbagh, and governor of Aleppo during his visit.

In relevant remarks in late July, Senior Advisor to the Iranian Parliament Speaker Hossein Amir Abdollahian renewed Tehran’s continued support for the Syrian nation and government in their ongoing fight against terrorist groups.

“Iran welcomes any measure in line with restoration of peace and sustainable security in the region, particularly in Syria,” Amir Abdollahian said in a meeting with Syrian Ambassador to Iran Adnan Mahmoud in Tehran.

The top Iranian advisor, meantime, congratulated the Syrian nation and government over the recent victories against terrorists, and called for collective cooperation from all countries across the world in combating terrorism.

“It is high time for the international community to pay special attention to the issue of restoring security and stability to Syria,” Amir Abdollahian added.
