Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, reaffirmed his country’s full support to the efforts exerted by the UN and its Special Envoy to Syria, Staffan de Mistura to solve the crisis in Syria, stressing the need for preserving the territorial integrity and Arabism of Syria.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met Syrian politicians and public figures on Tuesday. The two sides discussed ways to resolve the Syrian crisis, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters that breaking the Deir Ez Zor siege by the Syrian Army is an important step in the fight against terrorism in Syria.
“Indeed, it is an important milestone in the war on terror in Syria, the siege of Deir Ez Zor has been broken, where the Syrian troops and civilians remained besieged by the ISIS militants for several years,” he said, TASS reported.
“Now that the siege is broken, conditions have been created for achieving another important task, which is the liberation of Deir Ez Zor from terrorists,” the Russian top diplomat added.
“The Syrian troops supported by our Aerospace Force continue its activities aimed at achieving this goal,” Lavrov said.
On Tuesday, Syrian government troops broke through the defenses of the ISIS terrorists on the outskirts of Deir Ez Zor and broke the three-year siege of the city.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that the sixth round of the Astana meeting on the crisis in Syria will be held in the second half of September.
